Špela Pirnat… “an exceptionally competent and talented viola player with a promising future!” (As described by renowned violist Rivka Golani.)

She loves to perform and has performed in different settings, either as a soloist, an orchestra member or as a part of a chamber ensemble, both at home in Slovenia and internationally (Austria, Italy, Hungary, United Kingdom, China, Croatia, Netherlands, Switzerland, France…). As a soloist, Špela has already performed several pieces with different orchestras on international stages, such as Italy, France, Slovenia, etc.

Slovenian composer Črt Sojar Voglar wrote a piece called “Viola on Duracell” and dedicated it to Špela; she played the first performance of this piece at the music festival “Festival des Anches d’Azur” in Saint-Tropez (France). She has also performed twice at the festival “Shanghai International Arts Festival” in China. Špela doesn’t hide her big love for playing chamber music. She has, by now, performed in different ensembles with many renowned musicians, amongst them solo violist Nikita Gerkusov of the Viennese Tonkünstler Orchestra, cellist Enrico Bronzi, violinists such as Stefan Milenkovich, Wonji Kim Ozim, Yury Revich… She is a founding member of a piano duo with well renowned Slovenian pianist Tadej Horvat with whom she has been performing for many years and also recorded for the archive of Radio Slovenia – programme ARS, a classical music station of the Slovenian national radio.

Violist Špela Pirnat also performed at a very well received concert series called “Monika Leskovar and friends” at “Osor Musical Evenings” on the Cres island in Croatia, where she received many compliments. Recently she has also made an appearance amongst internationally well-renowned musicians at the “Euro Chamber Music Festival” in Gdansk (Poland). In 2020 she was invited to become one of the “ACR” (Art Circle Residence) artists and therefore performed on three concerts in Sweden. In 2021 she was touring Europe as a part of “NBTrio” with fellow musicians from Portugal and Germany/Switzerland. In November and December she performed on two concerts in Italy and Slovenia called “From EPK Novi Sad to GO!2025” with fellow musicians Stefan Milenković, Valentina Danelon, Enrico Bronzi and Marko Hatlak.

Špela is also active as a pedagogue and is a member of the “European String Teachers Association”. Her students are achieving great results and receive special commendations, either in competitions, concerts or auditions.

Wishing to combine mental training with music and gain more knowledge, she decided to study neurolingvistic programming (NLP) and is certified internationally as a “NLP master coach” (INLPTA, NLPEA, IANLP). She is also currently a student of transactional analysis and has by now gained a title “TA practitioner”. She has been a student of transactional analysis under the mentorship of Dr. Zoran Milivojević and Aleksandra Meško. She is active as a coach/counsellor on personal, studies and business fields. Viola is an extension of my musical soul. I can express myself in a way that I can not do with words.
